RYA Level 1

This two day course is a basic introduction to sailing and is offered on its own or makes up the first two days of our RYA Level 1 + 2 Five Day Course.

RYA advice currently prevents us from putting instructors in boats with students, once this advice is relaxed we plan on resuming Tuition, Taster Sessions, Kids Weeks, Swallows & Amazons etc.
Until we have some indication of when this may be we are not taking any tuition bookings.

Along with giving you the basic understanding of how a boat is handled and what makes it work, it will give you a good foundation into what makes a safe sailor. The course is in two parts: shore based and on the water, and at Glenridding Sailing Centre we emphasises the practical side of the course with as much time on the water as possible (weather dependant, of course!).

The course runs from 10am – 5pm with an hour for lunch.

We continually and positively assess students and keep them informed of their progress.

“…My daughter and I have had a great couple of days tuition, learning to dinghy sail. Our instructor James was superb and managed to instruct us both allowing us to complete our first levels/stages. My daughter summed up the 2 day course as – awesome! What more can you say – highly recommended! Many thanks to Steve & James…” – Adam H
