*** Covid 19 – Update 5 ***

Glenridding Sailing Centre will be OPEN for all Launchers and pre-booked Hire from Saturday 18th July
To make a booking, please visit our website Hire page https://www.glenriddingsailingcentre.co.uk/boat-hire/

Due to current Covid restrictions, there are still only limited facilities on site, and to help facilitate Social Distancing vehicular access is still restricted to Launcers only, Hire customers are requested to park in the village and walk down to the centre.

The site will be open and manned every day from 10 am to 5pm until further notice.

Be aware, for your safety and that of staff, there are a few things that we need to understand.

  • There will be no access to any of the buildings except the disabled toilet.
  • The gate will be locked so you will have to open it and close it behind you when you enter and leave – If you’ve forgotten the code, email us for a reminder.
  • You will have to bring all your own food, drink, and equipment for sailing and hygiene.
  • If the member of staff deems it too windy to sail you won’t be allowed on the water.
  • We must adhere to the social distancing regulations.
  • Please follow staff advice and any site notices posted for your guidance.
  • Please be aware that these procedures may change as we find out what works well and what doesn’t.

And obviously if you or any of your household have any symptoms please don’t come.
It will be great to see you all and I know with your help we can have fun and get wet safely.

Unfortunately, the social distancing rules prevent us from doing anything which requires an instructor in the boat with customers, which means we are unable to offer tuition, taster sessions, kids week and Swallows and Amazons events etc for the forseable future this season.
If you have a booking with us this year we will be contacting you to discuss rescheduling or re-imbursement for this event.
If you wish to discuss your booking our staff will be happy to assist via email, or if you leave a telephone message we will endeavour to get back to you to resolve issues.

If you have Taster or Tuition Gift Vouchers, we intend to extend the expiry date of these to account for the period we remain closed.

We will still be happy to deal with any enquiries you may have, but with the current uncertainty we cannot give any guarantees on the timing of our re-opening at the moment.

Best wishes and Stay Safe
