Glenridding Sailing Centre → RYA LEVEL 3 :: Better Sailing


Glenridding Sailing Centre This course can be run on its own over 2 days or combined with the RYA Level 2 Course to make up the RYA Level 2 + 3 Five Day Course.

On completion of this course, the successful sailor will be safety conscious and capable of sailing without an instructor onboard in light to moderate conditions. This new module on the RYA syllabus gives you the opportunity to practise and consolidate sailing techniques learnt on RYA Level 1 and RYA Level 2, and experience some of the activities that the advanced modules have to offer.

This will build confidence, support the development of good technique and allow more enjoyable and successful independent sailing.

Once again as with all our courses, time on the water is maximised.

Practical :: building on level 2
Rigging - setting up your boat depending on wind and water conditions.
Launching and recovery - in all wind directions
Revision and development of manoeuvers and techniques - practising and honing your skills in the 5 essentials.
Further manoeuvers and techniques - man over board, starting and finishing a simple race, taster elements from the advanced modules

Onshore Teaching
A more in-depth look into the theory found on RYA Level 2

Course prices include certificates - don't forget to bring your logbooks! The Adult and Junior courses can be combined in certain circumstances.
