Glenridding Sailing Centre → RYA DAY SKIPPER THEORY
You need no prior knowledge for this beginner's course. It is both a fun and enjoyable way of learning basic navigation and exercising those brain cells.
Over three weekends you will be introduced to chart work, position fixing, meteorology, passage planning and tides. The course is equally suited to both sail and powerboat users, with an overall emphasis on safety.
With the increasing use of modern electronic aids to navigation, an introduction to the safe use of G.P.S. is also included.
The course is essential preparation for the RYA Day Skipper Practical Course.
There is a little course work that participants are expected to do in their own time.
